Jamaican Jerk Chicken

Spice up your romance by surprising your sweetheart with a traditional Jamaican dish. No experience necessary. Pair it up with a candlelit dinner, wine (chicken goes great with white wine), rice, gungo (pigeon) beans, and salad.

Preparation time: 15 min Cooking time: 45 min

INGREDIENTS
• 1 lime, halved
• 1-1/3 tbsp cooking oil
• 1 medium chicken, halved or quartered (skin on)
• 2 tbsp pre-made bottled jerk seasoning*
*made of allspice, dried thyme, ginger powder, cinnamon, dried scallion, pepper, dried chili powder

DIRECTIONS
• Wash chicken with lime and water, and drain.
• Combine jerk seasoning and oil then rub into chicken. Our chefs at Couples suggest marinating for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
• Keep covered and grill or bake in oven at 375° for about 45 minutes.

Love that jerk chicken.  You forgot to add “Chop up with meat cleaver” to make serve it classic Jamaican fashion.

Hi David,

Your local grocery store probably carries either Walkerswood or Grace (wet) Jerk Seasoning.  Otherwise use dry seasoning…
